I would like to thank you for kindly sponsoring the Design and Print posters for my Mayor's Command Performance. With your help we managed to raise £779.50. Everyone I spoke to throughly enjoyed the evening, as did the Mayoress and myself. It was godd to have a good show full of local talent.

This year the Mayor has adopted two Charities, 'Age Concern Blackburn' and 'Miles of Smiles'. Funds raised for Age Concern will assist all older people in Blackburn with Darwen to have respect, information and opportunites for them to be able to live the life they choose. Miles for Smiles is a Charity established to grant wishes to young carers in the Borough who have dreams that due to their circumstances would remain unfulfilled.

In addition part of the funds raised will be donated to Stroke Service of the Royal Balckburn Hospital to assist in the production of literature and DVD information for people who have suffered strokes.
